New Pocket
Today, I had to go across the state line to get groceries.
Nothing really eventful happened...but when I got back home, i decided to hem my jeans by hand.
I'm pretty short and a lot of my jeans kind of slip past my feet at the bottom because they're too long.
it ends up with me constantly stepping on them and they tear because of it... i put in a new pocket for good measure.

The Death of a Small Town
I've lived in this town since I was around five years old, after we lost our old farm.
Our town is just shy of 700 people, it's more of a village by technical terms.
It's mostly considered what you'd call a farming settlement.
Most of the residents are agricultural workers, surrounded by farms.
However there is an "upper class" side of town, people with higher incomes tend to move in here because they like
the relaxation of the countryside.
But at the same time, they hate us poorer people within town and hate the farmers themselves with a passion.
We are the ones who created this town in the 1800s, but they hate us, because we're like a dirty blight on their "perfect country town" image.
And a couple of years ago, these new guys took over the town council.
They destroyed the park fields and disbanded the baseball team, replacing it with a show arena for their fancy horses.
They took away any public space from us, banned having livestock or even chickens even relatively close to the town, so we had to get rid of our chickens.
There is no public space for the residents anymore.
They banned owning outside trash bins because they're "unsightly" so now people are forced to keep their trash stashed in closets in their house, so now the town is teeming with rats.
You can only have two dogs outside at a given time now, because theyre "too noisy."
You get fined if you so much as have a dandelion in your yard.
It's a bunch of rich assholes retired to their country mcmansions outside of town trying to gentrify a farming settlement, and in the process ruining it.
People who can afford to have moved away. All businesses have failed. There's no local economy anymore. All that's left is us gardeners and farmers, supporting our own community.
I'm so sick of these people. Get the fuck out of our town.
The upper class are fucking demons.

Sloth Slippers
I got some slippers as a gift for this last christmas lol, because i keep going outside into the garden and refuse to wear shoes.
I stepped on horse nettle once and got a thorn stuck in my toe for like a week (because i didn't realize it was in there and was like...gee..whys my toe hurt? and found it a week later..)
but anyway, behold...my sloth slippers.
